Holcim in Argentina, a global leader in innovative and sustainable construction solutions, has established an important agreement with 360Energy, a leading company in the photovoltaic solar energy industry in the country. Thanks to this strategic alliance, all Holcim production plants located in Buenos Aires, Córdoba, Mendoza, and Jujuy will have a renewable and clean energy source from solar power.
This contract represents a significant milestone for Holcim, as it is the first time the company has signed a long-term solar energy agreement in Argentina, trusting 360Energy as its preferred supplier. With this initiative, Holcim reinforces its commitment to sustainability and demonstrates its leadership in adopting environmentally responsible practices.
Through this agreement, 360Energy will provide an annual volume of 30,000 MWh over the next 10 years. The energy supply will come from 360Energy's Photovoltaic Solar Parks dedicated to the Renewable Energy Term Market (MATER), with an installed capacity of over 200 MW.
Holcim in Argentina will avoid the emission of 8,250 tons of CO2 per year by replacing its electricity consumption from thermal sources with solar-generated electricity, equivalent to the energy consumption of more than 1,000 households in one year.
“At 360Energy, we continue to strengthen our position as one of the leading companies in the photovoltaic solar sector, and we are pleased to provide renewable energy to a company of Holcim’s caliber. We share common goals and values: being proactive in the energy transition and decarbonization process,” said Federico Sbarbi Osuna, CEO of 360Energy.
“Energy transition based on renewable energy is important because it provides benefits that go beyond addressing the climate crisis, as it is essential to reduce CO2 emissions that significantly contribute to the decarbonization process,” said Christian Dedeu, CEO of Holcim in Argentina.
